Angela Paxton

Advisory Board Member

Angela Paxton has represented Texas Senate District 8 since 2019. A Republican from McKinney, Texas, she previously worked for more than 20 years as a math teacher and school counselor and was the first educator elected to the Texas Senate in over two decades. Paxton serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Economic Development and focuses on education, economic opportunity, and family policy issues. She holds degrees from Baylor University and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Paxton is the mother of four children and grandmother of six.
