Today, The Alliance for Secure AI launched jobloss.ai, a new website to track AI-related job losses as they are reported. The website follows companies as they announce layoffs, a running total of jobs lost, and the total amount of the companies’ workforces that have been laid off so far.
“Politicians are not thinking as seriously as they should about how AI will whittle away at our country’s labor force. Jobs, both blue and white collar, are being replaced by AI right before our eyes. We do not yet have solutions to ensure that Americans can continue to provide for their families in the era of advanced AI,” said Brendan Steinhauser, CEO of The Alliance for Secure AI. “Jobloss.ai is a warning to everyone that their job could be next. It is time for politicians to act and preserve the American dream. The first step is awareness – now, we need action.”
The Alliance for Secure AI is advertising jobloss.ai to the tune of six figures with digital ads, a texting campaign, and mobile billboards in Washington, DC, New York City, and San Francisco. Additionally, the organization is airing ads on Fox News, MS NOW, CNN, and Newsmax, as well as locally in Texas, New Jersey, Ohio, Louisiana, South Dakota, California, New York, and North Carolina – states where critical AI safety bills are in play, are represented by Republican congressional leadership, or are represented by members of the House Democratic Commission on AI and the Innovation Economy.
