Matthew Broocke is the External Affairs and Coalitions Associate for Labor and Workforce Relations at The Alliance for Secure AI.
Originally from the DC area, Matthew worked as a union organizer in Pennsylvania for several years after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. Later, Matthew decided to attend Carnegie Mellon University to receive a Master of Public Policy, shifting to focus on the impacts of AI and emerging technologies on workers and labor unions. Matthew spent his first year of his degree working as a policy researcher with the Block Center for Society and Technology, before relocating to DC to complete a fellowship with the AFL-CIO Technology Institute.
Matthew is excited to bring his varied experience in organizing and policy analysis at the intersection of labor and technology to ensure that workers benefit from advancements in AI and technology, not the other way around.
