WASHINGTON, DC — The Alliance for Secure AI welcomed congressional action to address the risks of artificial superintelligence in response to legislation introduced today by Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Greg Casar.
Brendan Steinhauser, CEO of The Alliance, released the following statement:
“Superintelligence is a serious risk. Senator Sanders and Representative Casar deserve credit for taking superintelligence seriously and pushing Congress to act.
“We need bold solutions to make sure the most powerful frontier AI systems remain under human control, and we need more leaders to take action before we lose control of this technology. While we support lawmakers confronting the risks of superintelligence head-on, The Alliance believes that a more measured approach is necessary to get this right.”
